2014 – Whitby

During our stay, we enjoyed quite a few trips up and down the coast, with Staithes and Whitby being our favourite destinations. We now travelled by car, but when we were teenagers we used the coastal train.

I don’t think any of those coastal towns and fishing villages have changed in centuries, apart from the inevitable carpark accommodation.

As teenagers we sometimes borrowed Uncle Ronnie’s bell tent and camped in a nearby farmer’s field for a few days. It all looked very familiar and I remembered one particular excursion.
